Breaking Silence
A letter to my abuser reads:
Dear you,
I have fallen in love
With the idea of
Being loved,
And you have failed.
The silence is finally breaking
And the hushed voices
Of quiet victims
Are being heard.
Your man and your mother
Believe your lies
And at one point
So did I. But
We are a unit,
We are a nation
And you
Are
Nothing.
Sincerely,
